Sunday Afternoon Hike

I was feeling the need to do a little hiking and ended up at Kelly’s Run about 4 in the afternoon. A beautiful area to hike and relax. The scent of birch and oak, the sound of falling water, and the cool fall air was quite invigorating.

Rainy weekends do not present many opportunities for photography. I did get a few this morning at Grub Lake where the leaves are just turning.

Before the Homecoming dance this evening we stopped at a nearby pond to try to get some photos, and while walking in some geese took flight. I managed to snap a couple of photos even while carrying a tripod and other stuff.

There was a stunning sunset tonight. I almost missed getting some photos due to running the kids to the homecoming activity, but got some of it on the way home. This is the first of what I shot.

Another area I hope to develop some skill with is HDR Imaging. This is a photo I took looking out across the Susquehanna river this evening at sunset. I am still leaning to navigate my around the program and don’t know how to really use it yet.

Some subject matter

I have only been shooting pictures with an eye towards more than capturing events and history for about 6 months now and I find some subject matter is more natural to me. Action photos and sports themes are things I have been taking pictures of for as long as my kids have been involved. I also play paintball which helps me understand the flow of action.
